Eco-friendly caterer: tangible action!
Traiteur Grand implements its social commitment through its day-to-day actions. Above and beyond proclaiming a great principle, we want our actions to speak out for us.

Since 2009, we have been committed to an environmentally friendly approach that impacts the investments we make and the products or services we consume. Reflecting the practical application of this principle, we have obtained EnVol certification, which acknowledges our environmental commitments in our catering business. We are also working towards ISO 20121 certification in 2020.
We favour local products for two reasons: because they are local and because they are good. This is true for our « authentic taste of nature » offer as well as for our high-quality catering services. We believe this a common-sense choice, and we have decided to actively pursue an environmental approach. This approach is based on discussions with our teams.
In our kitchens, an educational management approach helps to limit food waste. A cancelled reception or event? We donate the ready-prepared food to local artisans or « Restos du Coeur » (charity that distributes food packages to vulnerable people): no waste, just happy people!
We have made several choices aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of our production.
With EDF’s Option Equilibre offer, we have a 100-megawatts/hour power supply from renewable energy sources, produced without direct CO2 emissions.
To reduce our water and energy consumption, we have installed a Meiko dishwasher that uses less water and energy and detergent.
For our lunch boxes, we have chosen to use Vision Verte, a complete range of biodegradable dishes and packaging made from renewable raw materials that can be composted: plastic made from plant materials and plant pulp, in particular.
.
To reduce water pollution and packaging, we use Ecolabel products. These products are made from plants and other easily biodegradable ingredients. This type of packaging is fully recyclable.
For our catering services in Nîmes, we aim to install the various containers needed for sorting waste in the company and thus promote recycling.
This system is already operational for our catering services in Montpellier.
We actively seek not to use (or to limit the use of) palm, copra or coconut oil, or products containing such oil. We prioritise the use of extra virgin olive oil or rapeseed oil.
To avoid cutting flowers, we use potted plants or flowers.
Today, being a good caterer also means setting an example in terms of protecting the environment.
